Overview

As cyber threats grow more sophisticated, the demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals has never been greater. Rigved Technologies partnered with a premier government university in Mumbai to design and deliver a Centre of Excellence for Cybersecurity — a purpose-built, industry-aligned learning environment that equips students with the skills, tools, and hands-on experience needed to build careers in cybersecurity and digital forensics.

Challenge

The university recognised a critical gap between theoretical cybersecurity education and the practical skills employers actually demand. Students needed access to real-world tools, realistic attack and defence scenarios, and a structured environment across the full spectrum of cybersecurity disciplines — from threat detection to digital evidence analysis. The challenge was to create a lab that felt less like a classroom and more like a working Security Operations Centre: scalable with evolving curricula, supporting multiple student cohorts simultaneously, and remaining relevant as the threat landscape changes.

Solution
  • Secure, segmented learning environment — built on enterprise-grade network security; student workloads isolated by discipline so exercises do not interfere; traffic governed by next-generation firewall policies students will see in industry.
  • Live Security Operations Centre experience — security monitoring stack ingesting real events, alerts, logs, and anomaly signals into central dashboards for triage, investigation, incident response, and threat-hunting practice.
  • Digital forensics capability — professional-grade investigation tooling for disk and memory analysis, deleted-file recovery, live network capture, and chain-of-custody workflows on dedicated forensic workstations.
  • Hands-on offensive security training — isolated attack simulation range using industry-standard penetration testing practice against safe targets: vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, credentials, wireless, and web applications.
  • Identity and cryptography fundamentals — practical exposure to PKI, digital certificates, encryption, and certificate lifecycle for cloud security, application security, and compliance paths.
  • Vulnerability management in practice — scanning, assessment, and prioritisation workflows mirroring enterprise vulnerability management programmes.
